An Observational Study of Bovine Pericardial Patch Angioplasty as a surgical option for Infected Aortic Aneurysms

Background: An infected aortic aneurysm (IAA) is a rare and life-threatening disease. The aim of this study to elucidate mid-term outcomes IAA, incorporating patch angioplasty with bovine pericardium. Materials Methods: Between June 2011 August 2020, eight patients (one woman, seven men) aneurysms the thoracic abdominal aorta were treated surgically. Results: There was no surgical/hospital death. two late deaths at follow-up. One patient (patient 6) re-admitted hospital vomiting blood four months after surgery died despite treatment. Another 5) his home 12 surgery, cause death unknown. Six remained alive evidence recurrent formation due infection mean follow-up 70.3 (range, 13-110) months. Conclusions: BPPA could be one surgical options for especially in severe adhesion around aneurysm.
